ROCKVILLEROCKVILLE -- An Oak Park man was arrested Thursday after steel racks
were reported stolen from a Rockville business.
Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a report of a theft in progress
at Capital Granite of Rockville. A caller said they saw someone stealing large steel
racks from behind the business, Sheriff John Sanner said.
An employee was able to get a license plate number on the pickup involved.
Information was broadcast to law enforcement and a Waite Park officer saw the truck
coming out of a private driveway, Sanner said.
The truck was stopped and the driver was identified as John Jay Czech, 44,
of Oak Park. The racks were found along with numerous large pieces of steel, Sanner
said.
Czech was taken to Stearns County Jail.
The sheriff's office is trying to locate the owners of the pieces of steel.
